While browsing Etsy,like usual, I came across the most beautiful pottery…and yes once again I FELL IN LOVE. I am, as most know, a chocolate fan and cake stands are just a weakness of mine. Along with admiring her amazing pottery, I also had the chance to do a small interview.. Here is the woman behind the art, Jeanette.
I have been working in clay for about 15 years, on and off. Taking a class here and there when I could. I became a full-time potter 2 years ago. (For much of that 15 years, most of my pottery would hardly have been described as “beautiful” except by maybe my mom and generous friends…)
What inspires you?
Right now, I’m all about the spring season and the beautiful colors that are in bloom. So a walk through the neighborhood is a good way to get the ideas flowing. I love combining colors. I’m also really enjoying altering my pots with ruffles and scallop to give them a very floral-inspired look.
And since you make the most adorable cupcake plates and cake stands…what is your favorite kind of cake?
The irony is that I don’t really eat sweets. My sweet-tooth is out-of-control, so I stay far away from treats. Maybe that is why I have a serious obsession with cake plates right now….
On the rare occasion that I do indulge, you can’t go wrong with coconut cake. Or carrot cake. Or some type of lemon bar. Maybe a stack of chocolate chip cookies. Oh, dear. Now you’ve done it……
