TELL: Easter Cookies

Well since it is almost easter time I had to make some cute little bunnies, chicks and carrots!
Im really excited about these cookies because I now have a fabulous new cookie recipe, thanks to my good friend.  They are light, fluffy and are so perfect with the super sugary royal frosting.
Cookie Recipe

 1 cup butter softened
 2 cups sugar
 3 eggs
 1 cup sour cream
 1 tsp vanilla
Cream all together. Then add the dry ingredients
 6 cups flour
 1 tsp baking soda
 1 tsp baking powder
 1/2 tsp salt

After all mixed, roll in plastic wrap and refrigerate at least one hr. Then roll out with more flour and cut out with cookie cutters. Bake at 350 for 6 -8 min. Sometimes 10 min, depending on thickness.

Frost away. They are fluffy goodness

Royal Icing:

4 cups Powdered sugar
3 tablespoons Meringue powder
6 tablespoons water

mix all together…depending on the consistency you can add more water…but do so gradually so not to make it too watery.  When its too watery it just slides right off the cookie.

And here is a little picture step by step of how I frost these tasty treats
I first outline the cookies…fill them in…then take a knife and smooth it on out.
Once you lay it down it should flatten out on its own
Supplies:

sprinkles and things: I got the colored sugars from Target and then the small white sprinkles I used for the bunny tails from Michaels
Wilton pasty bags
Wilton pastry tips #1 and #3
Wilton icing colors, kelley green, peach, yellow and pink
let dry for a couple hours….and then they are ready to eat!
