TELL: The big 3-0

sooooooo Im 30.
Yep that is right I have officially moved out of my twenties and into my thirties!
And I have to admit it is kind of scary….I know I should embrace this and 30’s are the new 20’s and so on and so on…
But it is still hard for me to really wrap my head around it all.  How can I be thirty when I still feel like Im 20?
I still eat only chocolate for dinner sometimes
and breakout into random dance moves
(which Austin has told me on several occasions that I am the most UN-sexy dancer he has ever seen)
I still love shows like Saved By The Bell and old Disney movies (and I also enjoy Curious George which you will catch me watching AND enjoying when I put it on for Rowen to watch)
I despise laundry and doing dishes and still want to play instead of do chores
I laugh at THE most random and silly things, and am so thankful I have friends that get my silly humor
I love playing games, all kinds of games!
I love getting dressed up, like crazy dressed up (and Im not talking fancy, Im talking bring on the theme parties)
I am goofy and silly and probably love the holidays more than some kids

So although I am 30 now I have come to the conclusion and plain fact that I am still
YOUNG AT HEART and I always will be.  So bring it on “growing older” because no matter how much my looks change and how many birthdays I have after this one, I will still always be this girl deep down….

ha ha ha

now that I have that out of the way…lets talk birthday celebrations…

My birthday was this past Saturday and what a wonderful birthday…. full of surprises, the most amazing fries I have ever eaten, mama mia, and WONDERFUL friends!

This is how my night unfolded…

My two best friends said they wanted to take me out to dinner.  We went to the lexington social house in LA (which, by the way, had the MOST amazing food, including the all time best french fries I have ever had, and that is no lie!)  I love my 2 best friends, they are seriously the BEST people, and we laugh sooooo much when we are together.  SO we laughed, ate, I got to drink out of my special birthday cup made by Bekah, and had the BIGGEST birthday candle/ firework on our dessert.

Now let me give you a little back story to my birthday night…

My husband is notorious for his creativity!  SO when my birthday came near it seemed he had dropped the ball on planning any sort of celebration.  I kind of expected we would go to dinner, or he had something special planned…I mean it was my 30th… kind of a big deal.  I had suspected he was going to surprise me somehow but he definitely made it clear that he had forgot to plan anything and that I could do whatever I wanted, so my suspicions faded.  Then my friends asked me out to dinner and Austin said he had a small birthday surprise for when I got home.  And I was ok with that :)

back to the birthday…

After dinner my friends said they had one more present for me, we walked out of the restaurant, around the corner, and there waiting in front of the Pantages Theater was a group of my friends waiting to take me to see Mamma Mia!!  I was SOOOO surprised, and the best part is my wonderful husband had been sneakily working on this surprise for a few weeks.  I LOVE HIM!!

A small photo montage of the night…do you see that I included the fries?

It was such a fabulous birthday!  I am so thankful for such good friends, and for a husband that knows me soooo well (and knows how much I LOVE musicals) and always keeps me on my toes with his surprises!
