TELL: DIY SUMMER FLORAL CROWN

I have been dreaming of throwing a backyard summer party for months, so I was more than excited when my friend Merrick had been dreaming the same thing.  It was so much fun teaming up with her and throwing our summer floral affair.  It included delicious food, flowers, friends, and of course, some floral crowns.

I’m thrilled to share the party and some tutorials soon, but first is this fun DIY.  We got together with Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts to share an easy tutorial on how to make a pretty (and simple) floral crown.
SUPPLIES:
– Silk Flowers (4 or 5 stems total should be enough)
– Wire cutters
– Floral wire (any width is fine)
Step 1. Start with a stem that has a string of small flowers, like the one below. Take two, if necessary, and tie them together with wire so the circle fits on your head.
Your crown should now look like this:
Step 2. Start adding filler stems, like the white one below. Secure them to the crown with a small piece of wire, adding additional pieces of wire where necessary.
Step 3. Add color and fullness with smaller stems, attaching them with wire as discretely as you can. Continue adding more stems until your crown is as full as you want. And you’re done!
Also, Jo-Ann’s always has amazing coupons — I never have to buy anything full price! Sign up here for exclusive deals (you can also get texts and emails with coupons) so you’re never unprepared at checkout!
Happy Friday!
