TELL: HALLOWEEN PARTY DIY

I seriously have not been to a “grown up” Halloween party in a LONG time!  I feel like for the last 4 years, Halloween has been all about the kiddos, so it was fun to have just a girls night.  And if anyone knows me I jump on any excuse to dress up!  Merrick (my party throwing partner in crime) and I teamed up with MintedJo-ann fabric and craft and Caravan Shoppe to throw this Spooktacular Halloween dinner party, and we had a BLAST!
We had the BEST time brainstorming and decorating for this party!  And the party itself was amazing, I think we have come to the conclusion that this will be a yearly tradition.

The Invitations
Like I have said before here, and here that invitations seem to get the creative juices flowing.  Loved working with Minted and using these awesome customizable invitations AND matching party decor.
Table Setting
Non of the party decor would have been possible without the help of Jo-ann Fabric and Craft.
For our place mats we used some craft wrapping paper.  It was perfect because it had the look of our invitations, was cheap and super easy.  I cut out place setting size pieces and then with a ruler and black sharpie drew on some black lines.
The napkins were made from about 2 yards of linen fabric from Joanns.  I cut out napkin size pieces, frayed the edges, sewed along each edge (to make sure the fray doesn’t go farther than you want).  I then dip dyed the fabric using black Rit Dye.  The technique is similar to what I did here, but dipping the edges not the middle.  We then made some tassels as napkin holders.
The orange sparkly silverware was from Target :)

Table runner and decor
The table runner was sooooo simple.  We got some awesome fabric from Joann Fabric and Craft.  It had such a fun texture that we didn’t need to do anything but cut it and place on the table.  I had some candle holders but all others we got from the dollar store and spray painted black.  Other candles were bought from the dollar store as well.  The silver pumpkin, crows and painted pumpkins were from Merricks Home Halloween decor.  We just scattered and arranged the candles and decor all down the table runner.
The Photo Backdrop
A big thanks to Caravan Shoppe for the Halloween printable spider web backdrop, it was just perfect AND made for some awesome pictures.
We printed out 4 sheets at staples of the spider web print.
We taped all the sheets together and then spray painted on some foam core (also bought at the dollar store) to make it more sturdy.  If you are having it lay against a flat wall then you probably wont need that step.
