Halloween parties are kind of the best.  Dressing up in costume, eating food and hanging with friends, what more could I ask for??  And if you know me, you know that I LOVE dressing up in costume (well and eating food!)  This is probably why Merrick and I decided to make this whole “Halloween party thing” a yearly event.
We went for a very different feel this year with our black, white, oranges and bright pinks, and I LOVED how it turned out.  So if your looking for some bright and colorful Halloween party ideas, you have come to the right place!  It’s not too late guys!  If you are like me, came home from Europe, got sick and then had four days to finish putting a huge party together with your fabulous friend … you can do it!  Dream big, or have a nervous breakdown, ha ha, either way it’s always fun in the end.  All the craziness that parties bring don’t bother me much, because in the end I get to PAR-TAY with my besties.

Now onto all the nitty gritty pretty parts of the Halloween party.  Because it’s all those fun details that make up the party in the end.
Each year we love to have a dinner party, maybe it will change sometime, but sitting around eating delicious food with good friends is kind of my happy place.  We always do a pot luck because…
1.  Not having to worry about the food is amazing!
2.  You get to try so many different yummy foods and desserts.

Figuring out the color scheme of the party is my most favorite part and this usually starts with the invitations.  It always finalizes all our crazy ideas into a certain theme.  We worked with Minted last year and again this year because I LOVE their options to change the colors on their invitations.  So, picking a wedding invitation isn’t weird for a Halloween party, ha!

Now, onto decorating an enormous table.  This can get tricky because the center piece and table cloth have to be HUGE.  The dip dyed bottles with candles worked out perfectly, and was a pretty easy center piece to make.  Just take a bunch of different size bottles, dip dye about half in alternating colors and put in some candles.  Although you will have to guzzle a LOT of soda ha ha.  But, when is that a bad thing? ;)
The table cloth was one giant piece of fabric, and because it was a knit…no ironing! woo hoo!  Small victories people!  The bright pink napkins, which I am semi obsessed with, were the perfect pop of color among a sea of black and white stripes!

Lastly was the dessert table.  Coordinating colors was important even when it came down to the desserts.  For the backdrop I took two triangle shapes of fabric, hung them on a dowel and then sliced them up.  I had a fun banner cut out using a Sizzix machine and voila!

Then its time for some major party fun!!!

The party looks amazing. Slightly jealous that there are so many girls in your ward (that all like to dress up as well)!
