I have a few favorite holidays, and the 4th of July is one of them. I love the noise, the excitement, and the patriotism. It just gets me so giddy. This year since the 4th landed on a friday we had a long weekend together as a family and it was the best! I sure do love my little family and getting to celebrate with them.
The 4th consisted of bike rides, parade watching, beach time, friends, bbq and fireworks. It was your quintessential 4th of July, I couldn’t have asked for anything more.
Saturday we went on a bike ride with friends. We decided to strap up the kids, bike to a restaurant, get the food to go and eat on the beach. In theory it should have been the best, but it seemed like everything started out badly. We had some crying kids, lost shoes, long wait for food, and crazy crowds. BUT once we sat down to eat everything seemed to fall into place and our dream of the perfect bike ride ended happily ever after. Dinner at sunset on the beach is dreamy and the food was delish. Happy, full, and minus one shoe, we had a beautiful bike ride back. We WILL bike ride again, now that the kinks should be worked out ha ha
