BOYS ROOM REDO – PART ONE

Tell-Love-and-Chocolate--Boys-bedroom-redoHave I mentioned my love for “before and afters”?  Well that love exists and it is strong ha!  I could look at them all. day. long.  So here is MY little before and after.  My boys’ room was in pretty sad shape it was in desperate need of a redo.  We moved into our place right before I had my littlest and so I wasn’t up to the task of decorating a whole bunch.  I did our living room and then lost momentum.  Fast forward two years and I STILL haven’t done too much.  But I felt it was finally time, especially now that my boys were getting a little older, it was time to give them a “bigger” boys room.

Now lets talk apartment living.  I have mention it before here, but it can be rough.  I can’t do too much about the nasty brown carpet or the fact that the walls are painted a depressing cream color, but I have come to realize there are ways to work around the ugly rental, to get the look you want.  It may not be 100% perfection but it can still be fun and feel like home.

With the boys room, I wanted it to be modern, colorful, functional, but still a fun room where they will want to play.  A got a few ADORABLE pieces from SWENYO to get the ball rolling.  They had the modern look that I was wanting, but still playful and not too adult.  Their skurniture bench is my very favorite.  I loved the look and what a perfect bedside table, am I right?

I am a little obsessed with how colorful and fun it all turned out.  I also loved that this wasn’t a HUGE undertaking and I just needed to rearrange a few things, add some new pieces and voila!
I am sharing some of the DIY’s I did for this room and also sources to everything in tomorrow’s post, so be sure to check it out!
