You know me, gotta make cookies for every holiday!

Say you love your mom this mother’s day with cookies cards! Because nothing says “I love you” more than sweets. A little lovin from the oven, now she can eat your words, this is NOT a crumby card…ha ha ok Ill stop with the cookie puns but they are so good. I had to share.
This time I changed up my sugar cookies with some watercolor (food color) painting. It is so easy to do and a lot of fun! I might be painting more cookies from here on out. Definitely a lot quicker then mixing 6 different colors.

Thanks to tara for the adorable hand written “mom, you are…” tags that are the perfect touch.

Supplies:

Letter Cookie Cutters
Long Macaroon Boxes (12′ long w/o window)
Food Coloring
Paintbrushes
(Just buy regular paintbrushes but use them only for food coloring, don’t use already used paintbrushes)
Gift Shred

Make and frost your cookies

Put a TINY dab of food coloring on a plate, mix in a little water. Use a test cookie to practice on. You don’t want the food coloring to be too watery.

Then start to paint!

Let dry and you are done! yum yum yum.

Fill up a macaroon box with the gift fill and place cookies inside. Wrap it up and put a cute “mom you are” tag. Then give some sweet cookie goodness.
