I have always loved advent calendars.  They are such a childhood memory for me.  Although we would always get those cardboard ones with nasty tasting chocolates in each little square box ha but it was still exciting, gross chocolates and all.  But now that I’m older and in charge of advent calendars I say no to gross treats and yes to delicious candy, me AND my kids will love. So to kick off Christmas and all its advent calendar fun I partnered with Paper Mart to share this DIY paper bag advent calendar.  Perfect for filling with all kinds of yummy treats and goodies.

-Take 24 pastry bags and fill them with all the goodies.
-Fold all the bags in different ways and sizes, then tape the folds with some washi tape.  I love paper mart bags because they are so sturdy and hold up so well.
-Wrap the bags in green ribbon.  You can change up the style of bow and alignment so that each “gift” looks a little different.  I also didn’t wrap some of the bags with ribbon to give it some variety.
-Next put all the numbers on the bags.  There is no specific order.  I think it looks better when they are all mixed up.
-Next arrange the little gifts to see how you want to tape them down.  I got a big piece of wood from Home Depot.
It was a 23×47 and I had them trim it down to a 23×40.  I wanted them on the wood because it was easy to move and looked cleaner but you can always hang and arrange them on any wall.  They are lightweight so its super easy.
-Once you have figured out how you want them arranged you can then tape them down, and then you are done!Advent-calendar-DIY-stepsDIY-colorful-Advent-Calendar

No matter where in the month of December you start your advent calendar it is always so much fun!!  So get going, because eating treats every day is something I support fully ;)

Oh my goodness this is the cutest idea ever! My family always does the advent calendars, and I think it’s a great idea to do this because you get to pick what goes inside!
